AMAZON AFFILIATE PROGRAM SUCKS! I joined the Amazon Affiliate Program just over a month ago. Just tonight I received a poorly worded and inaccurate email stating the following:
"We currently accept only Facebook.com open group pages or Fan Pages, Verified Twitter.com pages, a YouTube channel, or Twitch.tv pages in the Associates program. All other social network sites are not eligible to add Associate links, or for use to create an Associates Account.
In reviewing your website, we noticed that the URL listed on your application is a social network website. However, your site is not an approved social network or established with enough unique content and followers yet. At this time, we are unable to approve your application and have closed the account under which you had been temporarily approved." - associates@amazon.com
Let's look at what's wrong with this email:
#1. "We currently accept only...a YouTube channel" - Amazon
A. I have a YouTube channel. Your watching it right now. No other social media has my updated, unique associates ID.
#2. "All other social network sites are not eligible" - Amazon
A. No other social networking sites have my updated, unique associates ID. No violation there either.
#3. "In reviewing your website, we noticed that the URL listed on your application is a social network website." - Amazon
A. YouTube is not a social networking website. YOUTUBE IS AN ACCEPTED PLATFORM ACCORDING TO AMAZON: "We currently accept only...a YouTube channel" -Amazon
#4. "However, your site is not an approved social network"
A. FALSE! "We currently accept only...a YouTube channel" - Amazon
#5. "or established with enough unique content and followers yet."
A. Undefined criteria cited. My YouTube channel has over 50 videos featuring items purchased from Amazon, viewed by 135 subscribers, and over 47,000 lifetime views. The Amazon affiliate account has within 30 days received 233 clicks resulting in 17 ordered items, 16 shipped items, zero returned items, $416.17 in sales, and affiliate commission of $18.12.
Amazon has poor email communication and cancels associates accounts without just cause, and for vague reasons.
Content creators, especially self funded like myself, have spent over $1,200 in Amazon products starting this review channel, and are treated poorly by Amazon.
With no notice and without specifics, Amazon acts unprofessionally against the very content creators that help bring in customers.
Amazon affiliate program email communication accusations are inaccurate, and vague at best.
