DTube is a horrible disappointment. I believe DTube has singlehandedly delayed and damaged the Steemit community as a whole. A properly-working blockchain video website (that doesn't delete your uploads 2 weeks later) is absolutely VITAL if Steemit is hoping to go anywhere, and compete with mainstream social media. I sent SO many people to DTube over the past couple years. I'm embarrassed to have done so, and myself have returned to YouTube, something I dreaded doing but had no choice. What a shame!

@drutter you are correct - but there is nothing stopping other developers from competing with DTube if they believe that they can do it better.
I think that we are about to see an explosion in the number of developers working on Dapps on the Steem chain. Perhaps we will see some competition soon.
Yes, I hope so. Some open and free competition would be a healthy thing.
No one is going to migrate from youtube to a site where your videos stop making rewards in a week. I moved to bit.tube where you get tube coins every view, forever.
