IOTA is a cryptocurrency that does not run on a blockchain. It has a different decentralisation method - the Tangle. There a several advantages to that such as no mining necessary, infinite scalability and no fees. The economy is coming to the Internet of Things!
How the IOTA wallet works is a bit different:
1- one needs to download it
2- there is no standard user and password to access it
3- a "seed" which is a 81 character string replaces the user + password
4- be very careful on how you generate and store your key. Do your homework!
WARNING: do not used online seed generators!! there where recently millions of IOTAs stollen because some users have used seed generators that were compromised.
