Life is Endurance, Not a Sprint

It has been said many times that life is an endurance sport. We only get one trip around this life, and so many times we take things for granted, or let things grate us and test our resolve.

We need to build our resolve and take the stance that life will test us. Life is a collection of beautiful and amazing moments peppered with tragedy and strife. We need to acknowledge each other on this journey and make each moment as memorable as possible.

Take time to yourself and enjoy the time you have. Ask others questions and listen sincerely to understand, rather than plowing through with your own ambition in mind. Understand that humans are selfish and give each other the space to accomplish your goals. Selfishness is a human trait, and it's something that requires grace on our part to overcome.

Taking care of your health is absolutely essential. Endurance athletes focus on cardiovascular endurance to win the race. We have mental, spiritual and physical health to maintain. Like a building, we require constant maintenance and we need to make sure we are taking care of the multitude of issues that arise. It's not a question of if things will happen, but when they will happen.

Make sure you understand the long-suffering and beauty that is life, and give one another space to enjoy the ride. Life truly is beautiful, but we need to appreciate it. Gratitude, long-suffering, love and maintenance of health will add to our journey because it really is a marathon.
