Coconut Booze in the Philippines

in #alcohol8 years ago (edited)

Hey, Steemers! Here's one of my favorite things about living in the Philippines: being able to buy lambanog (coconut booze) for about a dollar a liter! The small baggie above was purchased for about 50 cents at a sari-sari store a few houses down the block, but bottles are available on the main street outside of my subdivision. (A liter is usually the smallest bottle size available.)

Now, as an athlete, I much prefer enjoying cannabis over alcohol, but this is good stuff. It's real strong, though. One time, after drinking too much of it with neighbors, I ended up naked on my kitchen floor. @awesomenyl was worried enough when I started saying, "I'm sleeping with the roaches!"

Ugh...never again.

Anyway, the real, original drink is clear like above, but flavored lambanog is also available. The clear stuff is best, IMO, but here's some blue, bubble-gum-flavored lambanog.

Cheers!

I hear life is poor, but simple. People with the right tools would do well there possibly? I wish I had a simple life, your coconut rum looks delicious! I agree with you on the smoking vs. drinking. Cheers! To the simple life my friend.
