All the things earlier generations would consider as magic don’t even excite us anymore, we are discovering more and more mysteries of the universe everyday and turning them into useful tools and adapting to those tools in an extreme speed.
Therefore i wanted to reflect on how these changes might effect our framework, which determines how we perceive reality and how we navigate inside this closed system with all the dimensions we subconsciously consider. To elaborate more pricessly as Nietszche once pointed out God is dead, God remains dead and we have killed him. then adds what sacred games shall we have to invent now? After this relatively slow but such a fundamental change in how we perceive our purpose in this chaotic universe pushed us to create new values, new ways of creating purpose and meaning to navigate the existence but till this day i don't think we were able to really replace it something as appealing as god is therefore still more people choose to believe in the dead body of the God rather than new ideas we then came up with.
To hightlight here shortly what we have replaced him with can be seen in following examples: people created more and more groups which focuses on modern versions of finding meaning through moral justifications, belonging to a noble cause, being really passionate about their careers, traveling and exploring the world, hedonism etc..
We’re entering another transformative era where the line between reality and simulation grows increasingly blurred. As Baudrillard predicted in “Simulacra and Simulation,” we’re creating a hyperreality where the simulation becomes more “real” than the original. Consider how we’ve replaced:
Real friendships with Instagram followers and LinkedIn connections, where relationships are reduced to likes and digital interactions. A “friendship” is now measured in engagement metrics rather than genuine emotional bonds.
Physical spaces with digital alternatives — instead of meeting in cafes or parks, we congregate in virtual spaces like Discord servers or Zoom rooms. Even our workplaces have become digital abstractions, with “office culture” reduced to emoji reactions and chat messages.
Natural experiences with curated digital versions — we scroll through carefully filtered photos of sunset rather than watching the actual sun set, we experience places through TikTok videos rather than physical travel, we swipe through dating profiles rather than meeting potential partners in organic social situations.
Even our emotions and expressions have become simulacra — we communicate through predetermined emojis and reaction GIFs rather than genuine facial expressions and body language. Our feelings are increasingly mediated through standardized digital representations, creating what Baudrillard would call a “precession of simulacra” where the copy has completely replaced the original.
Money itself, once tied to physical gold, has become pure simulation through cryptocurrency and digital transactions — strings of numbers representing value with no physical referent. The “real” economy has been superseded by its digital simulation.
This transformation extends to our cultural consciousness: news events become memes, historical moments become viral clips, and complex ideas are reduced to shareable soundbites. We’re not just replacing reality with simulations; we’re creating a world where the simulation is all that remains, and the original reference point has been lost
We replaced authentic thinking either with catchy phrases we’ve been injected from high budget ad campaigns to promote us consume more and even feel good about it through another catchy campaigns which focuses on newly adopted moral dilemmas we care, such as environment or exploitation of workforce or we make the government do the thinking for us each party almost randomly adapts a certain set of so called policies but actually just campaign phrases to make you not feel as stupid as much for voting highly incompetent candidates which only serves one purpose which is to win and sit to that chair as long as possible and also decides for you to what you have to believe in certain subjects if what you believe makes you more obedient or makes their financial donors more money
Soo… after all its great we are gonna get to the AGI soon so at least there is going to be one entity that can independently think and doesn't talk like a NPC
