What is AI?
Usually is described by the ability of science to make computer or machines capable to do the same things that require intelligence when done by humans.
Research in AI has focussed in 5 main component of intelligence.

AI explosion started 70 years ago when WW2 brought togtherer scientists from different areas, including emerging fields of neuroscience and computing.
From this collaboration was born the first modern computer , build by Alan Turing.
Turing helped to create a machine that was able to descodified the famous German machine Enigma, and give a crucial advantage to the Allies cracking and intercepting code messages from the Nazis.
It was estimated that his work shortened the war in Europe by more than 2 years and saved over 14 million lives.
Turing is widely considered to be the father of theorical computer science and artificial intelligence.

Since Turing, AI researchers always predicted the development of thinking machines would be a reality in a few generations but they grossly underestimated the difficulty of the project.
At the turning of 21th century , with the booming of modern computers, AI became one of the most promise and exciting fields of research and development.
On May 1997, Deep Blue became the first computer chess playing system to beat the world chess champion at the time, Gary Kasparov.
In 2005, a Stanford robot project drived automously a car for 131 miles in a desert.
In January 2016, Google's Alphago AI beats the human go champion.
Go is a very old Chinese game, a way much more complex than chess. This was a big achievement for AI development and represents the first AI computer program with the ability to learn and process logical thinking.
2017- THE YEAR OF AI
AI research, growing and innovation are growing at unbelievable rates.
We all have already in the smartphones we carry in our pockets the virtual assistant such as Siri, Bixby or Cortana.
Last year amazon released a home assistant called Alexa. This voice control assistant lets you speak your wishes and see them fulfilled!!!
Dinning your ligths, playing you favourite playlists, the weather for next day or simpling calling or texting your mum using only voice control.
Amazon estimates Alexa is already in 5 million homes only in USA.
TESLA- pretty much everyone have heard about tesla cars.
Yes they are green, fast and beautiful . But the cool thing about this cars isn't only the amazing features, but the car himself. The interation between machine and driver , together with the latest tecnologyies such auto pilot, self parking or the collision avoidance can also put AI saving lives!!!
This video bellow show how amazing and effectly the system could "predict " the accident... before it happen. This already requires a huge level of advance in the field of AI and will surely save lives in the future!
THE QUANTUM COMPUTER
Based in the principles of quantum physics, this computer use quantum bits, or qubits.
In classical computing, a bit is a single piece of information that can 0 or 1.
Qubits, using the superposition of this values, can be 1,0 or both at the same time, the so called " entanglement states".
D WAVE quantum computer is one of the first quantum computers.
Is 100 million faster that a conventional computer!!
QUANTUM COMPUTERS ARE already in use, however, getting this machines to work on a industrial scale is the problem. The complexity and physical tecnological barriers still make a personal quantum computer a dream.
Comparing the first convetional computer the the conventional computers today is easy to see some similarities...
AI - THE FUTURE
The ability to give machines the power to learn using huge amounts of data, cross information and algorithms will make this machines able to discover patterns and generate insights that a human brain will never be capable of doing.
In recent years, DEEP MIND has emerged as the leading tecnology for accomplishing broad range on artificial tasks.
The quantum computers, with limitless power and speed will be crucial in fields like deep learning or robotics in next decades , and his consolidation will bring the humand kind to a era of exponential technological innovation.

Singularity is the most scary but fascinating thing e reckon. And with that comes also a lot of questions. Elon musk said we are opening a pandora box and we don't know ehat is inside. He is currently putting money down in researching and " regulating" AI trying to prevent future issues... thanks for the comment!!!! Really apreciated!!
True that the advancement of AI, including machine learning algorithms and robotics, has been really fast. Yet, the deep learning model nowadays is still too simple to have comparable performance as our brains. What I most long is really the quantum computer, though it might lead to many cyber security issues upon its birth. Thanks for sharing this : )
It's definitely interesting what's in store for us in the future. Who knows how fast our technologies will advance and what it could lead to.
