I'm not doubting the story - the "radar" could have caught what the eye couldn't if there was light coming from the opposite direction, however if light was coming from the opposite direction, shouldn't the pedestrian have a shadow in front of that light - especially as he was in the middle of the road?

I agree. On every machine failure there are hundreds and thousands of human ones. Automation is the way to safety.

I am a Huge fan on Elon Musk and Tesla. Fortunately I am actually working with one of the founders sons of Space X on Cube Sats and the Nexus Project. Love what this new technology revolution is doing from automobiles, energy, computing and even governance. Crypto Baby!

Very cool story. I think every new vehicle being produced in the near future will be required to have automatic breaking. This will save lives for sure. It will also same millions in rear end collisions. In my city we have dozens of rear end crashes every week because someone didn't stop in time. Think about all the insurance claims that will never be filed, how many insurance premiums that will never go up. Lol it's a win win for everyone. Good post nenad-ristic

Elon Musk is probably the best visionary of theworl right now. He is solving REAL WORLD PROBLEMS. Respect for the guy.
As for autopilot saving the man's life, this is just the beginning. Autonomous tech will decrease human errors by a great margin.
To clarify a bit for those that are new to STEEM I will add this detail.
