A new device from Mattel was introduced which has AI which can act as a babysitter
A discussion is taking place about a new child care product from Mattel powered by AI. The AI is able to learn about the child and act as a babysitter of sorts. Child privacy and other child advocates have spoken against this new technology in particular from a conservative perspective that this technology may offer unintended consequences or and that the influence of this technology is unknown. They also make the case that privacy could be an issue as well. This eventually reached the Senate which reacted to the concerns of child advocacy groups asking for details on privacy protections.
For reference and context many new technologies bring unintended or unknown consequences including the television, the Internet, Facebook, etc, but the privacy issue may be something which can be solved by blockchain technology.
Blockchain technology can improve privacy and decentralize the AI
We require a blockchain technology which can decentralize artificial intelligence or and machine learning. We also require a distributed storage capability where the data is broken up into pieces encrypted and then diffused in a wide manner. The technology to do the storage is the part which is already built to a certain degree but the technology for decentralized AI remains necessary.
This is pretty fascinating but I wouldn't trust technology to babysit my kid . Technology is already taking over the lives of the present generations , scary what it will do to the futures
What's wrong with technology? So many parents aren't good at it.
Like how kids these days (young kids) now have phones even when they are 6-7 years old , I never had a phone until I was 13, it effects the way they grow up
I think the technology and AI help and make our life more confortable, but not for the children, they need there moms and dads not technology, children can use technology later when they grow up.
that's my opinion @dana-edards.
blockchain is boss
Although AI is great for some things that it is intended for, I don't think I would trust it for my children or parents. It reminds me of the Robin Williams movie, Bicentennial Man.
So you will have to pay a lot of money to a complete stranger? Most parents have to work.
I don't disagree with that most parents have to work and it is very difficult as well as expensive to find quality care givers for their loved ones. I am just giving my opinion that I would not trust AI for my loved ones total care. I am an engineer and I do support all the progress that has been made with AI, I am just not all in yet when it comes to family. I would like to see more progress before that happens.
