Bad Parenting

Mrs Waters rushed into the hospital panting. "Where is she? In what room is my daughter, Sally" she asked aloud.
"Calm down ma'am, I'll take you to her, a nurse replied and ushered her to the room where Sally was receiving treatment.
"Mrs waters, I'm Dr. Raymond, the doctor treating Sally introduced himself. "It's a miracle your daughter survived the accident considering the multiple fractures and severe cuts on her side, you should thank God she's alive.
"How is she doing, doctor?" She asked, can she talk, can I talk with her?
Sure the doctor will obliged.
Sitting on the edge of her bed, she asked her daughter who was just waking up after being sedated, "Sally darling what happened"?
Seeing her mother as she opened her eyes Sally burst into tears. "I'm sorry mum, I didn't know what came over me,I didn't want to go with them and didn't want to do it, she muttered.
Sally Water (18) was involved in a ghastly Automobile accident while fleeing from the police with some college mates. An eye witness said she was an accomplice to the crime committed at a bar outside school. According to the witness account, Sally and her notorious female gang went clubbing at the bar when a fracas broke out between the gang and a rival gang. Sally's gang beat a member of the rival gang into a coma before the police broke up the fracas an threw members of both gang in the lockup; Sally and one of her peers Joana Simpson fled the scene. Sally was knocked down in the process by a hit and run driver while Joana was later picked up by police in her home. The same police called Sally's mum who was the meeting with prospective clients of her company outside town with Sally's cell phone. She had to cut short her trip and rushed down to the hospital. The meeting with the client was supposed to last for a week. Sally's dad couldn't be reached because he was away on a business trip abroad.

Sally was a victim of both parental neglect and poor up bringing. Though enrolled in the best schools in town from preschool to college, her wealthy parents where never available to give her a proper training. They were too busy trying to put the family company on the world map, and left their only child in the hands of school teachers and the house keeper. Even when they were at home, they pampered her, and never allowed her to do any house work or acquire any life skill. They also never cautioned or discipline her for any misconduct or insolent behaviour nor restrained her from companying with miscreants. Infact, they allowed her to receive friends, both male and female in their home and even have parties with them there, without questioning their character. Those who knew her in college also said that she went clubbing in school every night. The housekeeper and her mum did the cooking for the parties. There was a case where she complained about the quality of food and rejected it in front of her guests. The mother had to apologize and prepare another meal.
While her mum was busy crying with and comforting her back at the hospital, two police men were waiting around to take her to the lockup when she recovered.
Bad upbringing breeds insolent and amoral children. Hences parents must do everything humanly possible to teach their kids essential life skills that will mould them into responsible and productive adults.
