Yeah, do you have any experiences with hitting the so called "wall" in these ultra races ?? I know for serious Marathoners ( my brother was one) some of them hit it around the 18 to 20 mile mark.
Oh god yes, @robertandrew. It’s usually due to poor nutrition. Fueling during these races is sooooo important. I’ll eat anywhere from every 15 minutes for a grueling race with lots of climbing to every 30-45 minutes for a flatter race. It makes a huge difference and takes some practice. Fueling so often is not as popular in road races but on the trails, it will make or break a race.
Yeah it must take some practice to keep refueling without cramping up or feeling too bloated . Thanks for your explanation :)
