Living the Dream

in #adventure8 years ago (edited)

This is only a planet and you only have one life, so why spend it complaining about your work and how dreadful it is to go back there every day. I have always believed that I wasn’t put on this earth to sit in an office 24/7. I will literally go psycho, and I am not even kidding.

My dad always says, and I quote,”One day when I go to heaven, knocking on the door, there is not a chance I’ll say I am Stefan from Gauteng. I’ll be able to say I am Stefan from the world.” This regularly motivates me to do stuff most people won’t or that most people fear. This includes a work or a job in my eyes.

One day when I leave school I don’t want to sit in an office all day and drink coffee. My dream is to go forth with my sport and make my country proud. That is the life. Getting paid for riding bikes all day long, getting the best kit and bikes for free. What more could I ever ask for?

In our world, there are a lot of people who are too scared to follow their dreams and become what they’ve been dreaming of since an infant. People think it is easier watching successful people on TV than get there themselves. There is absolutely 0% chance of me becoming one of them.

My “Plan B” would be to open up a 5-star track in South Africa. Where MXGP and FIM would be able to have races in SA and grow the sport. On this facility that I am planning to build, there will be everything a rider could ever ask for. Chalets and camps place for people overseas wanting to train. There will be top trainers available. A restaurant and bike shops on the premises! I’ll call this track “The Mall”, as riders rarely go to mall, the track is basically our mall, our go to place, and our home.

I’d just like to tell everyone reading this, not to be a sheep. Sheep follow the herd and the herd isn’t successful. Be a lion, and go for what you want, don’t let anyone stop you from achieving greatness!
