As a traveler, we are creating a good memory in that place and satisfying our day while embracing the moment with Mother Nature and have a freedom of time.
Anyways, my dearest stemians last month I traveled the PROVINCE OF NORTHERN SAMAR.
Let's goooooo!
Abak Capul Island Experience: Beach Resort, Samar
A short story behind the islands were we can traced back to the history during the early #Spanish era.
During 13th century, the followers of King Abak of Java, Indonesia and in honor of their deposed King, they named the island Abak. They landed in this 3,500 sq. kilometer-island that borders the western end of treacherous waters of San Bernardino Strait. The island’s name was later changed from Abak to Capul, a contraction from Acapulco, when the Manila-Acapulco trade flourished.
Capul island is located in the municipality of Northern Samar, it is a small village in San Bernardino Stait. It also served as the capital of Samar from year 1848 to 1852.
Capul is known in Samar being marketed as part of overland adventures of cruise tourists by the local government unit and the Department of Tourism.
It is also blessed with beautiful beaches with clear crystal water and fine white sand.
And you will witness the rich history that matched its awesome scenery of green meadows, rich foliage, coconut plantation, spring water, coves and rock formations.
Just recently, about a hundred foreign tourists on board Caledonian Sky dropped anchor in Capul and enjoyed the rustic ambiance and rich history of the place.
Enticing, captivating and breathtaking are the only few words that described this view. An awesome sunset greeted us while the wind blows that whispering to your ear by looking at the beautiful wave that will make your day perfect. I went also in the Parola where the views are overlooking and mesmerized with the San Bernardino Strait, the green meadows and white beaches of the island.
Many tourists people are attracted to its unique and indigenous dialect, the “Inabaknon” which has intrigued fellow Waray-Warays in the neighboring municipalities. The Inabaknon is one of the eight unique dialects in the Philippines according to Summer Linguistics Institute. It is similar to Sama of Malaysia. But of course, Capuleños as they are called, can speak Waray-Waray and Cebuano , the vernaculars of neighboring island municipalities.
The Capul Lighthouse
Located on a hill near the Capul fort overlooking the town harbor, a stone watchtower was erected to serve as a sentry or warning system and a refuge for indigents during Moro raids.
Prior to its founding as a town, Capul Island has a lighthouse which built on the island that served as a guidepost for the Acapulco-Manila galleon trade vessels passing through the treacherous waters of San Bernardino Strait. However aside from allocation as guideposts to the vessels while entering narrow straits or setting out to the open sea, these famous lighthouses are also traveler attractions to travelers who desire to marvel at their classic architecture.
I hope you enjoyed the place and my first @episode#01 of lakwatzera
