Just a quick, "in between" story that I want to share with my fellow Steemers.
This morning, here in Kampot, Cambodia, I went to take my motorbike and pick up some breakfast but got stopped in my tracksssss...
A little bird sang it's last song on a branch of a big mango tree, not aware of being on the breakfast menu for this, Paradise Tree Snake .
After a fast, camouflaged attack, followed by a stranglehold, the ensemble fell on the floor, next to our motorbike. Mi wife Yuris @yurodidit and I arrived at the murder scene and the snake started to consume the little bird. It went trough my mind to help birdy for a second but didn't. Thinking that half of it's bones must have been crushed already by the strong strangulation and choked.
And of course, having respect for wildlife and ecosystem.
I'm trying to get some good shots with my phone when the snake decided to slide ...
IN my motorbike! Check out the video.
So there we were,.. with a snake having breakfast in our bike and we couldn't take her along. Just imagine that we didn't see it all happen and find out on the road that you have an unwanted passenger like thisssssss.
ha wow, guess you have to have patience to just wait it out! Hard to see the web of life in action even if you have a healthy respect for it.
True, a bit sad to see though, wildlife killings are always cruel to see, specially when it catches you by surprise. Eventually we slowly chased the snake away with a stick because we were very hungry ourselfs and really needed our bike.
I agree...I can't bear to see animals in pain. Good job chasing it away :-)
Wow, that would stop me in my tracks as well! Never seen a Paradise Tree Snake before.
They're not dangerous for humans though but masters in camouflage and stealth attacks. Just watch out when you're climbing trees in the tropics ;)
It would be quite the surprise while climbing trees to find one of these guys. ;)
