This lake was formed due to a massive landslide at attabad village in the hunza vellay.
This vellay is setuated in the Gilgit-Baltistan.

"International Highway"
The distence from Islamabad is 646km 14 hours by bus or car.
The highway begins in Attabad Lake runs through the mountain ranges of Gilgit-Baltistan (North Pakistan) crossing over the China Border at khunjrab and into China up to Kashgar.
This is the highest paved international highway in the world.
