This is the problem when people don't see the bigger picture. People just can't grasp what gonna happen if civilians are without guns, especially now. Off course every option has it's downs and ups, but this is a very big leverage, and if civilians will loose this leverage, then the same civilians will be vulnerable to a police state regime. And even if no one will have guns officially, still those who need it, will get any heavy gun in a 'Black Market', and then there will be even more problems. Someone buys a heavy gun in a BM, and starts to shoot while police are coming with bb guns, many people will be dead already.
I personally don't like when people need guns, but this is the world we live in. Wishful thinking is one thing, but reality is another. Wishful thinking leads to a great disappointments. There will be no one left to blame then...
