Greetings all. After a difficult week I was able to get outdoors today and work on my garden.
I am still behind on planting. I was able to get a couple of sections ready for planting and finally rototilled the rest of the area that I plan to plant. It may take a couple of more times of rototilling until it is ready.
I am also getting my larger greenhouse ready for planting chilies and tomatoes. The plants are growing well in containers in my small greenhouse.
I had raised my goal to 15,000 so seeing I hit it I am going to post this. 15, 000 is really good seeing as I did not get outside until noon.
The above photo is one of several garden plots that I will be planting first.

Wow you definitely work hard, so you're getting ready to plant on this garden right? Wow I want to know the place filled with red earth, is that the area you've prepared for planting?
That is only one of 4 areas I have started. I have more room but I do not plant about half of my garden areas so it can rest and rejuvenate for next season.
Yeah you're right the gardens needs replenishment so as to do better next season, 15k and you're going on strong

Thank you. My rototiller is heavy so it is not all just walking behind the tiller. At the end of the garden it requires some lifting to turn around a go back. I needed the workout after the crazy week I had.

Yes it is hard work but besides great exercise you end up with some wonderful vegetables.

The garden plots looks ready for plantation of seeds. Soon. The harvesting will begin. Are you planning on using it for subsistence or commercial farming
I raise food mostly for my household and share with my daughter and granddaughter. I can, freeze, or store food in cool place to last the winter. I feel it is healthier for us and saves on grocery bill.
Today i plan on putting up rhubarb in the freezer. This is a vegetable that is ready early in season and comes back every year. It is a cold climate crop so it does not grow everywhere. It is sour and need to use a sweetener. My earliest memories with my Grandmother is her taking my oldest sister down along the pasture with some sugar in the palm of our hands and she would cut off pieces and let us eat them. Now I make a sauce, especially during winter, when we need highly nutritious vegetables.

@r2cornell, Pleasant to watch your Garden and whenever i see Agriculture or Planting work it reminds me of my village memories.
And i believe that when we do the Earth work somewhere we feel very blessed inside and it gives peace, and i also believe that human beings are created for the field work where they can grow food and can live happy life.
