My Actifit Report Card: November 1 2018

in #actifit7 years ago

Hello Everyone,
I trust you all had a fruitful day. My day was wonderful. I didn't have any exercise in the morning. I had wanted to do a morning jog but sleep got the better of me. It must be the chilly mornings we have been having.
Any how, next week with the start of the #automaticwin step challenge; I must get up extra early.
So I was at the office most of the day but got in my steps every chance I got. Lunch time is when I go at it the most. Walking up and down the staircases to the max.
After work, I got in my normal evening walk around the neighbourhood. Got back home to some squats and press ups before calling it a day.
Thank you so much for reading and as always feel free to upvote and comment your thoughts.
Am here again tomorrow, Fridays are my best days and it would be great if you join me again. Cheers 😀👍

Good morning on #HighFive Friday @practicaleric! Thank you for the high-five's

I'm glad you have been getting something from my S.[M].A.R.T. GOAL series! This concept changed my life so I can't wait to share it in full! Thank you for following along!

On sleep. I have been doing some self testing (Yeah! It's fun to be the guinea pig sometimes!). Basically measuring every min. of my time in the efforts to build a system that is able to analyze peoples lifestyles... I have been doing this since 2012 faithfully every day! (I know! This is taking mindfulness tracking to the next level!) It's quite a substantial data set now and I'm beginning to get excited about what I may one day do with it...

But anyways! One of the metrics I am measuring is the time I sleep. Something that has become an interest upon studying the data has been how the activity of sleep seems to directly reflect the amount of catabolic activity during my waking hours. Activities like work and working out. So, for example, if I work and work out 8 hours the tendency is to sleep almost exactly the same amount of time! It's uncanny actually!

Recently I listened to Arnold sSchwarzenegger's new book (Total Recall) It was fantastic and insightful let me tell you! One of the things Arnold says to people who don't think they have enough time to be a success is to, "Sleep faster!". That sort of stuck with me as I'm making a study of the activities people fill their lives with. As a body builder he has put his body through immense amounts of catabolic activity and yet he says that you need to sleep faster! AKA LESS SLEEP! Come on Arnny! Really!? lol! :D

Then I started thinking about it... Maybe he did sleep less to become successful... But how did his cells regenerate effectively without spreading disease throughout his body? Could it be that because he was working out intenselyevery day his body dropped into an extremely high quality sleep pattern with the short amount of time that he allotted to his sleep cycle? I'm still uncertain... BUT! You had better believe me... I'm watching carefully to see how well he ages and how long he lives to see if his sleep habits have had any lasting effect.

As for me... Yeah! I sometimes carve away my sleeping time to the bare essentials... There isn't any other time to make all the things I want to happen happen any other way... Other times I adhere to the concept of listening to my body and intentionally getting more sleep.

One thing is certain... Next week is going to be a week of a little bit less sleep... But perhaps it will be better quality sleep... Who knows right!?Those #AutomaticWin's aren't going to step up and make themselves happen on their own now are they!? hahaha! :D

Have a good friday @practicaleric and high-five! 🙌🏼

I love the sound of your contest @cryptospa! "Catch me if you can!" It's catchy! (Pun intended!) :D

Good luck with everything! :)

@wil.metcalfe, are you going to jump into the contest?

Hi @cryptospa! It sounds like a lot of fun but I'm already bigger than the maximum SP requirement (Especially if you include my two other accounts: @AdventureReady and @BeachReady). Anyways! I wish you all the luck as you make this one happen! :D high-five! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

That is quite interesting coming from Arnie. What has been confirmed in many many studies is that too much exercise without rest is detrimental. This combined with few hours of sleep leads to over production of cortisol in the body. I too would like to see how he fares on. What I know is that shorter HIT exercise and adequate rest is the way to go. I wish you a fantastic high five Friday 👐🙌👍
