[5x SBI Giveaway] ๐ŸŽ€ My Actifit Report Card: febbraio 19 2019

in #actifit โ€ข 6 years ago (edited)

Today was a foggy ๐ŸŒ day...

Working day inside the office: I didn't miss too much, since there was pretty a lot of fog.

Some chat with my dear friend P. before going to take my daughter after her volleyball training.

After dinner, for the joy of @holydog and his gang, one hour walking in the countryside under the full moon light: simply awesome! ๐Ÿ˜

Everything is okay! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

My questions today are:

How many languages do you speak? Wich one do you prefer and why? ๐Ÿคช

Tell me your experience in a comment or link me an article from your blog. Thank you!

I only speak English and just pick up a few words when I travel elsewhere. I wish I had better affinity and talent for language. I do not think I will ever learn another language, but you never know :)

Oh yeah, you never know! ๐Ÿ˜

Posted using Partiko iOS

you can do that

Welp, I only speak two languages: my native one, ๐’”๐’‘๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰, I'm venezuelan โ˜บ; and ๐’†๐’๐’ˆ๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰ (I guess it's kinda obvious after seeing that I'm writing in english hahaha).

๐™ณ๐™ธ๐š‚๐™ฒ๐™ป๐™ฐ๐™ธ๐™ผ๐™ด๐š: ๐‘๐„๐€๐‹๐‹๐˜ long post with my opinion coming above, I'm sorry. Also sorry for any grammar mistakes.

In terms of preference, as you ask, I prefer ๐’”๐’‘๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰, but not because I was basically born with it, but because spanish as a language is ๐‘๐„๐€๐‹๐‹๐˜ ๐–๐ˆ๐ƒ๐„, both gramatically and speaking. Sometimes one word can mean ๐€ ๐‹๐Ž๐“ of pretty different things depending on context and even the country (arriba Latinoamรฉrica WUUU).

And also, ๐Ž๐‡ ๐Œ๐˜ ๐†๐Ž๐ƒ ๐“๐‡๐„ ๐’๐‹๐€๐๐†๐’. You can basically make up ๐€๐๐˜ word and give it a meaning and almost ๐€๐๐˜๐Ž๐๐„ surely is going to understand it, it's ๐‘๐„๐€๐‹๐‹๐˜ ๐€๐–๐„๐’๐Ž๐Œ๐„ (the same happens with bad words hahaha, again, awesome).

Refering to what I said before, I don't think (or at least I don't find it that easy) making up words in ๐’†๐’๐’ˆ๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰ works pretty well. I find this language a lot more "gramatically restricted" compared to what ๐’”๐’‘๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰ is (at least for me, and my experience). But that doesn't mean I don't like this language! โ˜บ

I learned how to speak ๐’†๐’๐’ˆ๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰ in a course I was in a couple years ago. It lasted around 3 years, and I started it when i was like 12-13 years old (I'm 17 now). I had a lot of fun! โ˜บ All my teachers gave their classes in english, there was literally no spanish, with no exceptions. Even when you didn't understand a word, they tried to explain or describe it in english, like giving it a meaning in any context.

I find it an easy language to learn, ๐€ ๐‹๐Ž๐“ easier than ๐’”๐’‘๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰. I'm really thankful for the opportunity I had of getting to know how to speak and write it, since you can basically use it almost ๐€๐๐˜๐–๐‡๐„๐‘๐„ and someone might understand you for the sake of it being an internationally recognized language โ˜บ (I guess that's because, as I said before, it's an easy language to learn).

For social media and all that stuff, like watching videos, chatting, playing videogames online or posting something so anybody can see it (like in here), I truly prefer english, since like I said, it's internationally recognized. And also, I don't know why but I'm more into listening music in ๐’†๐’๐’ˆ๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰ rather than in ๐’”๐’‘๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰ hahaha.

โ„‚๐•†โ„•โ„‚๐•ƒ๐•Œ๐•Š๐•€๐•†โ„•: Both are really great languages, known almost anywhere and both are really useful! โ˜บ

Greate answer, mate!
I appreciate very much, although I love minimalist philosophy so I am short-spoken.

I traveled a bit to Venezuela: in which area do you live?

Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) is my native language. I can speak a little English, Amharic and Swahili too

That's interesting: are you living in (or how you are connected with) Africa?

I am in Ethiopia now

I only speak English in everyday like but I do understand a lot of Spanish and speak a little when needed. I tried to learn Spanish but my group didn't have enough speakers for me to keep it up after school.

ย 6 years agoย (edited)ย

Some good spanish films could be helpful to keep you spanish trained?

Hello @amico, 20K is a very fine activity level.

As for languages, I only speak English. I always intended to learn Spanish, but never did.

Do it: learning another language it's an open mind training! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Thanks for stopping by... see you soon!

I speak English, German and Italian, some bad Czech and very bad Spanish. I prefer Spanish and Czech because of passion (Spanish) and thinking part of me (Czech). :D

Interesting!
In what sense do you think that Czech is part of you?

Czech to me represents my capacity to analyze and my sensitivity to the needs of other people. Czech people tend to help people in need and young people let old people sit down on buses and trains. I really enjoy the Czech Republic, I still miss it and I have good memories of the kindness of the people.

Speak fluently, only Portuguese, I know elements of English, Spanish, French and Italian, but they are rather superficial.

Very good , Pedro!
If you want to speak Italian, Iโ€™m at your disposition! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Posted using Partiko iOS

My grandfather was Italian but I was very young when he passed away. From the languages โ€‹โ€‹I quoted, I'm worse in Italian, but with the help of google translator I even deceive you hahaha

Chinese is my native language. I can speak a little English too.

Posted using Partiko Android

Good! I would like to know some chinese to get some ignorance out of me, LOL! ;)

First of all you tell us about your languages proficiency :-)

I speak 100% only my native language that is Urdu

English 30%
Arabic 20

Posted using Partiko Android

My linguistic proficiency is simple:
Italian mother tongue; English, Spanish and French learned at school and traveling.

How did you calculate the percentage? ;) LOL

haha good question

It's my estimate ๐Ÿค”

Posted using Partiko Android

Yeah, it's your perception... thanks, mate! ;)

Yes of course ๐Ÿ‘

Posted using Partiko Android

I speak 2 languages, English and Tagalog but I prefer speaking in English because I can express myself more.

Good!
Tagalog is part of your roots: never forget it! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Posted using Partiko iOS

Don't worry when it comes to communicating with my patients I'm forced to speak Tagalog so I'll never forget that.

Walking in the moonlight sounds like fun!

Oh yeah, it was!

During the moonlight walking I also had a long phone call with @osso, mentoring him on how to post with @actifit: let give him some support and suggestions, if you like.

Thank you! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Wow!! 20k!! I am envious!

I only speak one language (English) which is sad because I think I have an affinity for them.

I took german in college but can no longer speak a bit. I am around many spanish speakers and can make out bits but not really speak. Also took four years of the dead language Latin.

Maybe I will try Spanish. I have enough need for it at work that it would come in handy!

Yes, it seems reasonable for you to learn some spanish: itโ€™s a language I love!

Posted using Partiko iOS

This is fun.
I speak Malay and English mainly, a tiny bit of Chinese slang which is Hokkien from my mother side because I'm half Chinese :D

Hey, I love Croatia ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ท
I would need to learn some croatian, but during our visits we always found croatian perfectly speaking Italian, so... ๐Ÿ˜œ

Sometimes I pretend I don't. (Speak Italian! ;)! )

wow 20k is good number my friend...

Thanks, mate!

French and french... A little bit English but not enough...

Posted using Partiko Android

I like (I know at school level) French... I would like to practice it in full immersion, to learn more...who knows if I'll have the chance? ;)

France is very welcoming and a fabulous country but there are French grumblers ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I love France and French grumblers: they prove to be more aware of many other people.

Not false
