"American citizen at last"
Today I become a citizen of the United States of America. Today, I become "a peer of kings" as president Calvin Coolidge once said. This occasion is a defining moment that should not soon be forgotten, for it mark the beginning of a new era in my lifetime as a U.S citizen.
We don't need to rush. If something bound to happen, it will happen in the right time.
It was a bit of a wait! Usually, the processing will only took 3 to 4 months to get done - from the day you submitted your application to the day of the oath taking ceremony. This all had been done last year if I just didn't reschedule my appointment interview due to our vacation in the Philippines. The second appointment interview, January 4th of this year, it was cancelled again due to the snow storm. It is not safe to drive in the road that time. Finally, the third appointment was successful this time and now lead me to the oath taking ceremony.
Who would have thought that a girl from a small site of Albur, Bohol, Philippines was being brought to America and is now a citizen?
Jeremiah 29:11 - "for I know the plans I have for you" says the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".
As I was seating in the couch waiting for my husband, I was pondering my life. This verse had been written in my school notebook, from the beginning of my elementary years until I reached to college.
Thoughts to ponder:
When God appoint your life, you can't say "no" to it.
These two will always be part in my milestone in life.
