Former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Mahfud MD agreed if Teungku Muhammad Daud Beureueh is called a hero.
The statement was said by Prof. Mahfud in a public lecture on Guarding the State Ideology Against Radicalism at AAC Building Dayan Dawoo, Syiah Kuala University, Monday, July 25, 2017.
Prof Mahfud MD said that Teungku Daud Beureueh was involved in the DI / TII rebellion against the Indonesian Reupublic, but the opposition was demanding justice and a promise that was not patronized by the government at that time.

Teungku Daud Beureueh is a former Aceh Govenor, Langkat, and Tanah Karo who is accused of being the mastermind of DI / TII rebellion in Aceh. He has not been given a hero by the Indonesian government until today.
