Paya Bakong is one of the most hinterland area in northern Aceh. In this region, Keureuto river flow and then empties into the Strait of Malacca. Though today, the region is lagging region with an average life of its people depend on agriculture, and do not receive much education, but along the bank of Keureuto river in ancient times has appeared settlements are be regarded advanced. Of this be proven by objects of heritage which indicates a good level of intellectuality.
CISAH in a research expedition to the region in the hinterland of northern Aceh have found historical objects from the 14th century. The objects are tombstone sculpted with a variety of ornaments which was awesome.

A forgotten cemetery. Kind of sad, or at least melancholy. Cool sculpturing though. There is something about walking through old cemeteries. It's almost like you're communing with the residents there and in some cases, sharing their stories. A very solemn time.
