Nobody's really a failure per say
I feel people don't apply themselves
They believe they won't succeed at something
So they don't bother doing it at all
Some do try, fail and well they just give up.
Let me share a story.
My younger brother was struggling academically, he felt he couldn't be average or above average,so he barely scaled through every time.
Despite countless 'you can do it' talk and 'keep going' speeches, nothing seemed to work. So we basically just relaxed and let him be.
Experience is always the best teacher but the lesson can also be wicked.
He had to write two major exams before he could enter the University .
He wrote both of them and narrowly escaped failure. But it still wasn't enough. He wasn't admitted.
It became an eye opener for Him. Most of his friends would be moving on to college and here he was, waiting till the next year. Its a not so nice experience.
But I noticed d a new drive in him,how he was always reading and studying and the likes, still it was difficult to actually believe he would do much better but we hoped and prayed.
Now he has written his first exam and his JAMB score blew my mind in a way that i had to check twice to confirm that it was true. Just a few marks shy of 300. It was amazing. It opened my eyes to the fact that inside this boy was an intelligent young man waiting to explode and gain expression. He just needed a wake up call.
Truly experience is the best teacher
