Thank you themarkymark! I think it's great that you are trying to show responsibility for the service that you provide. I see how you could easily just turn away from this and ignore this if you chose to.

I really don't see any problem with the bot voting system, as long as those running the Bots are willing to do as themarkymark is doing. He's really setting a great example of responsible bot management. At the same time, I'm sure there's things that he's missed but at least he's putting forth the effort.

How can we improve upon the plagiarism screening? Seems to me that once something gets flagged a certain number of times, it should automatically place the post on hold for earnings. I'm new here so I don't pretend to know the inner workings of the current system. However, it's blatantly obvious that changes are needed. We definitely don't want an over regulated, highly censored platform. On the other hand, we don't need a platform over run with plagiarist, spammers, and scammers.

It's really a shame that those of us who are striving to create quality original content, lose out to the dishonest members.

What is the process for affecting change here on steemit? The system is flawed if people don't want to waste their power with a downvote.

Figure that out let me know please.

Being that this is all decentralized I'm sure it isn't easy. In reality there is someone behind the curtain here on steemit. There must be some way to make systematic change here. If not, this place will be over run with garbage and nobody is going to want to go on competing for pennies. The value of steem will be lost and someone will recreate a derivative utilizing the good steemit had and a system to prevent steemit's flaws.

It's just hard for me to see the long-term success of steemit without addressing these serious issues. Anyway, thanks for doing your part.

I consider myself still quite new here (I came off for a few months and am now back) but when I came back only a week or so ago, I have seen so much crap posted. Mostly people plagiarising.

It's disheartening too, because for people like me who post pieces of written work which have taken hours, days, months (even years) and yet there are people here that can lift something off the internet and get rewarded for it.

I'm going to resteem this post too, although I don't have many people following me, every little helps. Just keep doing what you're doing. At least you are trying to make this platform work. Maybe we need more people to call out on those users that plagiarise? Make it known to users that this isn't accepted here? How can others help here too? I mean, if I see a post that is possibly plagiarised... what can I do about it? downvote? Maybe tag someone to look into it? I see a problem where post are just being lost, we only see posts that are curently 'trending'... we need a set place for the rules. First thing you see when you come on.
