Age Of Abundance: Lifting Up The Third World Nations Via Technology (Updated)

This is a continuing story, a technology that I keep alluding to.

The Age of Abundance is taking shape for many reasons. At the core of the shift, the awakening of humanity if you will, is technology. Of course, the Internet enabled us to enter the Age of Information. This was the first major step towards changing the world. Suddenly, everyone who was connected was exposed to the world's database. Anything that was put online, which basically is all of humanity's knowledge, became accessible.

What is great is that you did not even need a library card.

I believe cryptocurrency is the next major shift that is occurring. Like information, this gives the masses access to money creation. Unlike the past where it was in the hands of a select few, the elite, now it is open to anyone. While particular areas are going through the regulatory process to try and control it, we see what is eventually going to happen. Like information on the Internet, cryptocurrency cannot be controlled either. It will spread in the directions it so chooses.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about ICON and New Story. ICON is a start up company that is focusing on 3D construction. New Story is a non-profit housing organization looking to deliver affordable housing to people. Together, they are seeking to utilize the latest technology to solve a global problem.

They built a house in Austin for $10K. This house took only 24 hours to complete from start to finish. It was about 650 square feet meaning that it is about the size of a one bedroom apartment.

While this sounds very impractical to people living in the western countries, it is easy to forget the plight of billions of people in this world. This technology is going to change the lives of thousands of people over the next year. When you look at the conditions that most of humanity lives under, it is truly heart-breaking.

The west can afford to be arrogant about this. A 650 square foot house is a shack in the west.

This is how a much too large portion of humanity lives.

The minimum salary for a Major League baseball player in 2018 is $545K. New Story seeks to raise $600K to fund a project in El Salvador. In other words, for a little more than the cost of a major league rookie, 100 homes could be built in El Salvador using the ICON 3D printing technology. In fact, New Story says that a home can be fully funded with a donation of $4K.

Well Fargo bank just worked a deal with U.S regulators to pay $1B in fines for typical banksters thievery. These guys throw the Feds $1B to keep themselves out of hot water when that would build 250K homes.

Imagine upgrading 250K families from this....

Can you picture how difficult life is like when living under these conditions. One mistake people arrogantly make is that poor people are stupid and lazy. Let me see how motivated and intelligent you are if you grew up in this "house". The fact is there are billions of people who are relegated to extreme poverty simply because of where these were born. Being part of the unlucky sperm club means they are just another generation involved in the cycle of generational poverty.

The Age of Abundance is going to change that. A technology such as this is going to really impact these nations. The price tag of $4K is minimal. It is also today's pricing. Give this technology 3-5 years to develop and we should see the pricing drop a great deal more.

We can even go one step further with this process. There is no reason for any project not to get funded these days. In fact, there is a technology available that can fund any great idea (I think most would agree this housing idea is a great one). It is called cryptocurrency. While most focus upon the money aspect (or speculation) of this technology, few realize the innovation it creates for funding of projects.

New Story could put together a program where they offer a token tied to this project. Instead of seeking $600K, they could offer out $5M worth of tokens to be able to scale the project up. The land and houses built could all be tied to the token with blockchain showing who owns the land. The present pricing could be applied in tokens (let's say $5K). Over time, the value of the token could appreciate as the area is improved, commerce starts to take place, and the people get better educated. This could be shifted from country to country as New Story sees fit.

That is just an example of the unlimited possibilities we are seeing today. Funding is now limited solely the creative abilities of those who require the funding.

The Age of Abundance is coming upon us. We are going to see the shift in the 3rd world nations first since that is the easiest area to make an impact. Over time, it will spread around the globe.
