At a glance, nothing matters on December 13th. But not so with the entire community in the town of Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra. In one interview session at his Home Office (12/12/2012), Ir. H. Umar Zunadi Hasibuan, MM, as Mayor of Tebing Tinggi said that the massacre committed by the Japanese army took casualties to thousands of civilians. "It is estimated that the victims reached up to 2000 people more," he said as one of the information holders of this event.
"The number of victims can not be ascertained, because of the mass graves, nameless meals, and the unidentified victims of where they came from," he explained.
The number of victims that fell on the day of the event is evident from the many human skeletons found in many places in the town of Tebing Tinggi. Even a few years after the events of December 13, 1945, in some places found many human skeletons that are civilians of the city of Tebing Tinggi who became victims of such atrocities. From the findings it can be seen that many victims are stacked in one hole and are buried by origin.
