Save Your Pinmapple Pins with TravelFeed's Import Tool!

in TravelFeed7 months ago

With Pinmapple closing down at the end of May, all of your existing pins are set to disappear. That means all of those posts you've worked so hard on will no longer have a home. To avoid this tragedy, we have created a tool that will allow you to import all of your existing Pinmapple pins to TravelFeed and ensure they live on. Alongside this, future pins will also remain functional through the travelfeed.com front-end!

How to Import Your Pinmapple Posts to TravelFeed

TravelFeed.com is built on Hive, so all you have to do is login through Hive Keychain (or Hivesigner) like you would with any other front-end. To import your Pinmapple posts, watch this short video for a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Access the Import Feature

  1. Log in to your TravelFeed account or go to your TravelFeed Dashboard if you are already logged in.
  2. Click on 'Drafts' in the sidebar.
  3. Click on 'Import', located next to the 'Published' tab. On mobile, it's a green import icon.
  4. Select 'Pinmapple (Hive)'

Step 2: Select Posts to Import

Once you're on the import page, you'll see a list of all your Pinmapple posts that are not yet imported to TravelFeed fetched automatically. To import the desired posts, follow these steps:

  1. Review the list of your Pinmapple posts.
  2. Select the posts you want to import by checking the boxes next to them.
  3. Click on the 'Import Selected Posts' button (you might need to scroll down to see it) to start the import process.

It's that simple! Your pins should now be imported and living on through TravelFeed. They will be visible on your personal map on your profile, as well as on our global TravelFeed map.

Creating New Posts on TravelFeed

Pinning new posts on TravelFeed is simple – create a post, select the location in the sidebar, and it's automatically pinned! No code snippets needed.

Our EasyEditor is designed for travel bloggers, and we also offer a classic markdown editor. TravelFeed doesn't charge beneficiary fees for posting to Hive, so you keep 100% of your rewards!

Pinmapple will stay alive

News to share.

With a few Hivians we are taking over this project as we all love #Pinmapple. Talks are taking place since the announcement and at the moment all looks good

It might get a new name but we will ensure that all Pins will stay alive and that all your work and memories will stay safe.

Even better, you may use the pins together with TravelFeed, as this is a great community and even a cool tool for all your travel posts

This is awesome.

Looking forward to working together on this!

I just imported my posts. I saw that I had 72 pins, but 35 posts were imported and I cannot find any more. Is this normal?

All your Pinmapple posts that aren't yet imported should show. I'll look into this, do you have a link to a post that isn't listed for import?

Thanks a lot! I'm gonna try to import the pins!

If we want to keep creating new travel posts, through TravelFeed, are they shown on our Hive profile then?

Of course! Just make sure you're signing up with Hive Keychain or Hivesigner

Ok thanks!

Words cannot describe how thankful I am for the sharing of this. Was saddened to learn about Pinmapple; ecstatic to know there's a way to still access some noteworthy posts of my own! Thank you!

Our front-end also supports the pinning of future locations in posts too, so you can continue travelling around the world and sharing it here on the Hive blockchain. :)

Looking forward to many more adventures to come!

It's very quick to import. Thank you so much.

Thank you!
I am so so sorry that Pinmapple is closing down :(
