Market Friday Fort Taber Fort Rodman Museum
I haven't been posting in this challenge for a while since she isn't on here, but when I visited this museum the other day I thought of her and decided to do this postA post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, I know she took a break and hasn't been on for a while i hope all is well with her
For this weeks post, I will share some shots i did of a visit to the Fort Taber Fort Rodman Museum
it is in Fort Taber park, which is the name the city gave the area, but apparently the historic places trust call it Fort Rodman, which was its original name, something I learned on the visit,
Starting with a shot of the building

As those that follow me know I visit this park often but mostly in the early morning at sunrise, I think this is the first time I have visited the park in daylight since I moved here three years ago.
I have been meaning to go and visit the museum but never got around to it till now and the reason being the president of the museum invited me to come visit and talk with him as they wanted to display some of my photos of the fort in the museum.
NO payment for the photos as it is a I guess one would call it volunteer run museum and only asks for donations from visitors so technically is free to visit

I meet a few of the team of volunteers, all very nice people and they do an amazing job with keeping up the museum.

As they told me the focus of the museum is not so much on wars but on the soldiers who fought in them and even thought the building looks small it is impressive how much they have on display there as I hope my photos may show.

All or perhaps most of the items in the museum have been donated by locals in the area.

they have many photos of military service personal from the area in all branches displayed around the museum which I think is a nice touch, they even offered that as I had served in the NZ military if I had a photo of myself in uniform they would happily add it to the display.
But I do not have any photos of myself from my time in the military, I had the nickname of the ghost from some colleague as I always managed to keep myself out of photos.

Not sure what else to say will let the photos do the talking

Keeping the memory alive in an effective manner, enjoyed the photography inside with memorabilia nicely displayed.

Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
That’s so great that they want to display some of your photos, @tattoodjay.
“The Ghost” &mdash ha ha. Photographers are some of the least photographed people on the planet, I believe.
I too think about posting for Market Friday even though @dswigle is on a break. Why not? It will keep the embers burning. I’m sure others are doing so too, though I haven’t checked.
I’m guessing the community could be somewhat self-sustaining with an effort from several of us who have a love for it. I have dozens of potential Market Friday posts languishing on my phone.
👍🙂👍
A great asset for your country. Management of the museum shows the love and interest of the visitors and volunteer.
I have make a visit of this museum through your awesome shoots . Much appreciation for quality.

Nice viewing environment
I've often thought about Denise too and I hope that everything is okay with her. My nephew would go nuts in this place. He loves all things military and this would be like heaven. Thanks for capturing it so well!
Yes I to hope all is well with her,
