...well that, of course, is assuming that like me you couldn't find a particular save-file available at the Mass Effect Saves website.

Is it so hard to ask that other people to keep Kaiden alive? I know he's no Garrus Vakarian but Ashley is a bitch. I know she has boobs, but seriously people: so does Liara. Ashley's a terrible, terrible character who deserves to be left behind on Virmire.

I love the Mass Effect trilogy. I still tear up at the end of #1 despite the fact I've played through it far too many times and the story is old now. But, sometimes you just want to leap into where it all gets good... game #2. But at the same time, you want certain choices from the first one to make an impact on your playthrough, so you think to yourself, "Ok, I need to go get me a savefile."

And then, you discover, that no-one has the savefile you want.... 😑

Maybe everything was fine except they punched the journalist. Or didn't wave a gun at Conrad. Or this. Or That. And you happen to be a perfectionist who wants everything just so.

So, I spent the past few days painstakingly completing Mass Effect 1 to my own standards. I wrangled the Mako over a hundred bare and boring planets and got us a save-file where Kaiden lives and Ashley dies!

Might've also romanced Kaiden in the process. Woops.

That was actually the whole problem when I was searching for save-files... most of the non-romanced ones, though they were to my liking, had saved Ashley instead. There are already plenty out there that are my playstyle with a romanced Kaiden.

Oh well. Here's yet another one.

Hey, now you have a choice with this savefile --a choice! Stay true to Kaiden, or get flexible with our favourite calibrating Turian and be called a cheater in #3. Because clearly romance is all that matters in the Mass Effect universe.

Also, at least this one has a somewhat decent name! No Sentinel Shepard or Cyrillic Character Shepard or Bishumiika Shepard here. Seriously.

Anyway. Here's the important bits

Basics:

• Avia Shepard. Not a ridiculous name.
• Earthborn / War Hero / Adept Biotic (Bastion).
• No DLC installed.
• Not quite completionist, but probably about 95% or so? Just a couple of random things missing, like encountering the Rachni on the ground of some planet. Nothing that's remarked upon in later games.
• Because of Earthborn status - Finch was talked to. Didn't help his buddy. Still alive.
• Completely aware of Cerberus.
• 100% Paragon, with a bit of Renegade.
• Saved the Council.
• Recommended Anderson for Councilor.

Random Things:

• All Matriarch Writings uncovered for #3.
• Scanned all Keepers.
• Alliance has Bhatia's body.
• Dealt with Harkin to find Garrus.
• Helena Blake disbanded the gang.
• Thrust a gun into Conrad's face since he accuses you of it later, regardless.
• Let Toombs kill the scientist and himself so he doesn't send angry emails in #2.
• All other hostage situations resolved peacefully.
• Helped Emily Wong both times.
• Disagreed with the Terra Firma xenophobe guy.
• Didn't give stimulants to Elias Keeler.
• Gave the gambling device to Doran.
• Didn't punch the journalist just so I can say, "wish I'd done that when we first met." in #2.
• Cut off the Council several times so in #2 Joker can remark about calling them and disconnecting just like old times.
• Gave Cerberus files to the Alliance.
• Got the token from the Consort and used it on a ruin on some planet.

Companions:

• Wrex killed Fist.
• Wrex is still alive.
• Tali has the Geth data.
• Encouraged Garrus to be more Renegade.
• Romanced Kaiden.
• Ashley is dead.

Noveria:

• Helped Parasini arrest Anoleis.
• Saved the Rachni.

Feros:

• Saved the colonists and fixed up the colony.
• ExoGeni is funding the colony.
• The Asari is helping the colony.

Virmire:

• Rana went free.

• Saved Captain Kirrahe.

So, as you can see, pretty much a typical paragon playthrough. Was mostly diplomatic and helpful but was also a bit of a hot-head. Inner roleplay in mind so it all makes sense to me to headbutt Krogan and act more like a bad-ass in later games.

It didn't quite go as planned considering the whole point of this was to get a save-file that didn't already exist. But, alas. Well, it's there if you want it! And I plan on playing it in upcoming days. 😀

If you grab it, hope it lives up to your standards! I personally don't really feel "attached" to a Shepard unless I play them from the very start, but I know not everyone is as sentimental as me. 😂 You don't want to know how much I cry in #3. You really don't.
