Hi Hive Lovers
You all already know that I am one of the true anglers here and often share stories of my fishing trips (you can check my profile or some posts about fishing and my fishing results). Today I just returned from my fishing trip, but this time it's a different story.
If you often go fishing, you must have had times when you couldn't catch any fish and you came home empty-handed. I believed that to be right. "Fishing is all about one's effort and luck."
Getting the fish is not the main goal, but when you can't get a single fish, then that is the most painful time you will experience. "You are not lucky." That sentence is medicine for the pain you feel.
Fishing hobbyists like me don't really care when I don't bring home the fish I've caught; I'm only satisfied when I can feel the pull of the fish and manage to conquer them.
But when I didn't feel the fish's tug at all, it was also the most painful moment for me. Of course, you can all imagine what it's like to be in your boat all day and not see a single fish touch your fishing bait.
In fact, I actually felt a lot of touch underwater there. But all I get is my fishing lures being released and then disappearing. I just raised my hand and discovered that my fishing hook was empty.
During the rainy and stormy seasons, I spend more time fishing in estuary waters (where the sea and river meet with lush mangrove trees). People frequently fish there during high tide for a variety of species, including MJ (Mangrove Jack), blackbass, barramundi, baby GT, and various types of grouper.
Today's fishing trip has turned into an empty fishing trip, ZONK!
Although I have several times felt a lot of tugging under the water there, my fishing instincts and experience say that it is not a fish tow. It was something different, but still with a heavy pull and a downward push.
Wherever I cast fishing bait, the same signs always occur. There is a fishing bait that touches and pulls, but it's not the touch and pull of the fish!
After the fishing process (which is a bit annoying) went on for almost 3 hours after the tide rose, I got the answer that it turned out to be the main annoyance for the anglers. That is Mr. Crab—mud crab, to be exact!
Mud crabs are one of the obligatory inhabitants of the brackish water ecosystem around estuaries, and usually they only live around mangrove plants or other shallow waters around there. But I and all the anglers who hang around here have never cast our fishing bait into those mangrove trees.
Mud crabs are actually very difficult to catch with ordinary fishing rods, and fishermen who hunt for mud crabs usually catch them with special traps. But recently the crabs started bothering the anglers, and today I became one of their victims.
The presence of mangrove crabs that approach and eat the anglers' fishing bait will cause the anglers' target fish to flee and stay away. A novice angler will not notice their presence on his fishing line, but I'm not a beginner angler! I even managed to get to some of those troublemakers and catch them; their feet caught in fishing hooks or entangled in hook lines.
Here are pictures of the troublemakers, and they really annoy anglers:
But I really have no taste for these troublemakers, and my fishing trip today was really disappointing without feeling any sensation of pulling the target fish, except for the annoying touch and pull of the troublemakers, who have two pincers.
😂 The troublemaker looks delicious to me. I even imagine how to cook your catch. !LOLZ

You have a great sense of humor, @tampilyne.
Actually, those "Mr. Crabs" are also delicious, have a high nutritional value, and have a high selling price. But they are not a target for fishing and really interfere with the angler's bait.
Thanks for dropping by and leaving something interesting to laugh about here.

Anytime @justbabybee. It's wonderful that you have such a thoughtful friend who cares enough to send you a Valentine's Day badge.
I saw you get really big crabs a while ago, and I'm sure you enjoyed them. Definitely delicious.
However, their presence was not at the appropriate time. I just hope it's the fish and not the troublemakers.
We've never fished together; I'm afraid your fishing rod will get dusty, Bro!
