The long-awaited second season of THE CREATURE FROM GYEONGSEONG has finally been released on Netflix, with its premiere date set for September 27, 2024. Due to my work, I was only able to complete my 7-episode marathon today. I was very excited to share my thoughts on this masterpiece with you. Don't worry, despite mentioning some superficial spoilers, I intend to summarize my understanding and the new dynamics managed by the series.
The protagonists remain the same: Han So-hee (Yoon Chae-ok) and Park Seo-Joon (Jang Tae-Sang). The reality of the series is present in the present day, everything takes place in the present year of 2024. That said, you may wonder, how are the protagonists the same if the first season took place in 1940? Apparently, the parasites that infect people prevent aging, elevate the physical abilities of users to another level, and some users are not affected by the monstrous transformation, which is the case of our two protagonists.
I will not go into details about the transformations and the reason why the two protagonists have such abilities. I will leave you with the curiosity so that you will want to watch it in the future, to have the pleasure of the novelty in each episode. I want to highlight something that was very clear in this second season: the series itself is the story of immortal lovers who, even though separated by time, experience loneliness believing that their love is dead, until they finally meet again.
They try to live this love, however, it is not easy. In their path there is an enemy from the first season, a new creature and an organization willing to end them. This fight between immortals and the entire fate of humanity is in the hands of this new organization. Is the ending a happy one?
Be sure to watch the final scenes after the credits of the last episode, something that signals a global problem and doors to a third season.
The genre of the series is highlighted as horror, suspense and drama, but it also has a romantic tone.

A tão aguardada segunda temporada de THE CREATURE FROM GYEONGSEONG finalmente foi lançada na Netflix, com data de estreia marcada para 27 de setembro de 2024. Devido ao meu trabalho, só consegui completar minha maratona de 7 episódios hoje. Fiquei muito animado para compartilhar meus pensamentos sobre esta obra-prima com vocês. Não se preocupem, apesar de mencionar alguns spoilers superficiais, pretendo resumir meu entendimento e a nova dinâmica gerenciada pela série.
Os protagonistas continuam os mesmos: Han So-hee (Yoon Chae-ok) e Park Seo-Joon (Jang Tae-Sang). A realidade da série está presente nos dias atuais, tudo se passa no ano atual de 2024. Dito isso, vocês podem se perguntar, como os protagonistas são os mesmos se a primeira temporada se passou em 1940? Aparentemente, os parasitas que infectam as pessoas impedem o envelhecimento, elevam as capacidades físicas dos usuários a outro patamar, e alguns usuários não são afetados pela transformação monstruosa, que é o caso dos nossos dois protagonistas.
Não vou entrar em detalhes sobre as transformações e o motivo pelo qual os dois protagonistas têm tais capacidades. Vou deixar a curiosidade para que você queira assistir no futuro, para ter o prazer da novidade em cada episódio. Quero destacar algo que ficou bem claro nessa segunda temporada: a série em si é a história de amantes imortais que, mesmo separados pelo tempo, vivenciam a solidão acreditando que seu amor está morto, até que finalmente se reencontram.
Eles tentam viver esse amor, porém, não é fácil. No caminho deles há um inimigo da primeira temporada, uma nova criatura e uma organização disposta a acabar com eles. Essa luta entre imortais e todo o destino da humanidade está nas mãos dessa nova organização. O final é feliz?
Não deixe de assistir às cenas finais após os créditos do último episódio, algo que sinaliza um problema global e portas para uma terceira temporada.
O gênero da série é destacado como terror, suspense e drama, mas também tem um tom romântico.
