Recent Bandcamp pickups November 2018

in #music6 years ago

Another batch of things I've picked up recently that I think others should check out too. Some new stuff, some stuff I'm catching up on.

Frontierer - Orange Mathematics

One of the tags for this album is "technical metal", and although I think it applies, this may not be what you expect upon seeing that. There's definitely some fast and technical playing here, but there's a bit more of a noisy, almost breakcore-like feel here as well. This is another one I came across almost by accident, but I'm really glad I did. Awesome stuff for sure!

Ashen Tone - Particle Shifiting

This is a collaborative project made up in part of a friend of mine, Riki Rezinunts of Gross National Produkt/MMI Studios. Some really cool experimental/dark ambient stuff here, definitely worth checking out if that's your thing.

C/A/T - Complex Client

I first came across C/A/T many years ago on last.fm, back before they got bought out, and it was still a great place to find new music. I became a huge fan right away, and have most of their releases. Of course, I had to pick up this new one as well. I think it may be my favorite since the era of the album The Rougue Pair, as I much enjoy the noisier stuff.

LLNN - Deads

More metal that I found browsing Bandcamp semi-randomly. Holy crap, this is awesome, heavy stuff, and uses synthetic textures to great effect. Not much else to say.

Verin - This is Not an Exit

One of many that I've been meaning to get for some time. One of my favorite combinations is drum and bass with inustrial/power noise-type stuff, and it's done quite well here.

Acidrodent - It's All Your Fault

A new release from a project that's been mentioned here before, and a good one. Here we have Acidrodent's take on black/doom metal, and I've gotta say, I love it!

Swans - Cop / Young God

By the time I heard about these guys, most of their earlier stuff was pretty hard to find, and/or expensive, and these are two that I didn't have yet, so I finally decided to grab this combo release on Bandcamp. I really wish I would've gotten this sooner, because this is just fantastic stuff.

That's it for this round, hope you find something in here to enjoy as well!

Indeed, they have some great stuff! Glad to help with the reminder.:)
