Welcome to the Gridcoin community! =) Interesting ideas. While we have been marketing GRC from several angles, I am yet to see the angle of 'token of completed volunteer work' tapped.

People buying GRC are legit, they help give GRC value & thus offset electricity costs more than if nobody was buying the token. That said, welcome to steemit :)
