@travelshots North American Friday entry:
This is one of my favourite shots of Toronto's skyline that I took from the Toronto Islands. I used an ND-Filter to make the water look smooth and silky. In combination with the colour key it looks almost like the city is floating on a big cloud.

I am a big fan of Cartagena, Colombia. The historic walled center of the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1984 along with this place, Castillo San Felipe de Barajas. This over 400 year old fortress was involved in key battles centuries ago and today is a popular tourist attraction. I love seeing the new modern skyscrapers behind the fortress, a mix of new and old.
Sweet. This would have been a cool experience.
I am headed over there pretty soon and cannot wait to see it myself. Thank you for sharing Matt.
Poverty in Venezuela
This is a photo of the a poor neighborhood near Caracas. Many of the hills that surround the city have been built with favelas. You can see the roofs of many of these constructions are just a some thin plaque of metal. Many of the walls of the “houses” are made with cardboard. I took this photo ten years ago, when the country was in the boom of the oil prices. Now days the situation is much more worst.
Some great views! Thank you so much for sharing.
Cartagena, Colombia is the most beautiful city in South America and most pictures are of course of the historic center but you can get some pretty good views looking towards the modern neighborhood of Bocagrande.
Great shot.
That's where I am headed in next few weeks. Great shot!
Wild horses grazing on the beach at Anakena, Easter Island.
Anakena beach was an amazing spot for a swim and to check out the moai statues at the beach. There is one single moai and a set of seven with their backs to the ocean. This spot was a highlight for me it was true paradise :)
Awesome!
Cheers mate 🍺
That is fabulous, it must be great to see those magnificent animals in wild.
It sure was, there is so many wild horses on Easter Island.
Statue in San Agustin, Colombia
The statues of San Agustin erected by an ancient culture are a mystery to historians. Today, many of them have been excavated and are displayed in historic parks in the Amazon rainforest.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.
This would be so cool to see. I want to go on adventures like you. Awesome job.
That must be great to see such monuments scattered around the forest.

Between Playa Manzanillo and Puerto Viejo there is a road that surrounds the entire north coast of Isla de Margarita by the mountain, it is a great walk especially because of the view it offers of the Caribbean Sea, here is the Mirador Constanza, site to enter contact with nature and contemplate it in its maximum expression, the viewpoint is conditioned to enjoy a pleasant moment and there are almost always people on the site.
So calm and so beautiful. Great shot!
Sunset on El Yaque beach Margarita Island Venezuela, this is one of the favorite places for tourists who visit the island and also of those who live here, because the location of this beach is ideal to spend a good day and enjoy its warm waters and bright sunsets like this.
Beautiful sunset. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much for your participation. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming shortly.
Cabo Polonio, Uruguay
This is one of the places where the visitor can't rush, everything there is slow paced and isolated. No electricity, no piped water. Staying there may be difficult for those hooked to technologie, but it may grant you one of the most beautiful skies.
That must be a great place to unwind from our regular lives.
Absolutely, also for internet detox.
The sunsets from home are also beautiful. This photo I was able to capture when I was visiting a friend in Pampatar (Isla de Margarita - Venezuela). The different tonalities that a sunset can have are impressive. This combination of colors with the clouds was very beautiful to capture.
The color of that sky sure looks amazing.
Near the village of Minca, Colombia, this waterfall is ideal to escape the heat of Santa Marta. However, the mosquitoes are everywhere, better be prepared or you'll end up with bites all over.

Tachira state in Venezuela have a lot of natural landscapes and natural places worth to visit, like this one that is in the moor at 2.600 meters over the sea level. The moor "Las Coloradas" is the highest point of the Tachira state, and when it is not full of fog you can see a a layer of clouds under your feet that looks like a sea of clouds

On the way in the car from Ciudad Bolívar to Puerto Ordaz (Bolívar, Venezuela) you can find beautiful landscapes with lots of vegetation and animals. If you go through one of these places you will not be able to avoid stopping and taking some pictures.

Cafayate is a small town in the province of Salta, Argentina. It is in the south of the province, in the Calchaquíes valleys. It is a tourist city known for its wines. I had the chance to visit several vineyards, including this one where the wine was excellent.
Tropical Forest in Santa Caratina, south of Florianópolis Island, on the edge of Lagoinha do Leste. (small pond of the east). To get there you need 1h of light hiking.
The Sierra Nevada is the second national park to be decreed in Venezuela. In the high Andean peaks shared by the state of Merida and the state of Barinas, thirteen large rivers are born that travel long and narrow valleys to then irrigate the vast plains of the Maracaibo basin and the basin of the plains. This capacity to produce abundant water for agriculture, industry, generation of electricity and for daily use in the homes of the region is permanently protected by the protective legal figure of the national park.
