You can buy coins on coinbase then you need to transfer to an exchange like kraken or bittrix, from there you link the API of the exchange to Coinigy.

Coinigy is just a trading platform.. You send your BTC to the exchange you like.. Example: Poloniex or Bittrex .. then you can trade on that exchange using the Poloniex website…
