7 Day Positivity Challege: Day 1

I was browsing through my feed the other day, trying to catch up on steemit friends. When I started reading a blog from @Alimamasstory, a fellow #steemitmama, she was doing this #7daypositivitychallenge and nominated me to write along. So here I am! And let me just be honest, she couldn't have picked a better time for me to focus on the positive. It's been a real struggle lately, probably ever since April if I'm going to be truly honest with myself, but here recently if it's not one thing, it's another! 7DPC0.jpg

In the above photo, Psalm 23 was my dads favorite verse. I remember before he passed away he would get his bible out and share this scripture with me. It always brings comfort to my heart when I see it.

Today I have decided to focus my positivity on... my Bible!
The past two years or so I've really been digging deep in reading and doing daily devotionals.

These are some of my devotionals I've been using to help me through this challenging time. I've had to reread them going on twice because the first time was such a fog, I didn't feel like I should move on quite yet.

I felt like I was so full and going strong, then wam bam! That devil played a good card. It knocked me down and just when I thought I was slowly making progress on getting back on the right track... BAM again and now I'm feeling like I'm drowning. But I refuse to put my reading aside, even on the those hard days because I know my God is bigger and he will bring me through this storm!! As an old preacher's wife of mine told me this past Tuesday, “Remember when the waves are over your head, they're under His feet!” I've sat on those words since she's shared them... and I feel like it's light a small flame inside of me that I haven't felt in so long. I was actually able to sit down today and read some verses, that were just flowing and I came across one of my favorite verses!

Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. -KJV

I'm thankful for the little lights that shine through this dark time. I'm striving everyday to get the light to burst again. The bible is one of my ways to help change my mindset when I really need it. So thanks to my husband who picked this one out and had my name engraved on it, since I've lost my first bible between moves.

One of my favorite books and it's even my favorite color! The hubs did good on picking it out.

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to read my blog for the day! I hope there's something in your day that sheds light on it and you're able to use it to push through the grind. Remember there's always a light at the end of the tunnel! We just have to keep truckin til we get there!

The rules:

  1. Write a post about something you have to be positive about today - this could be anything from being thankful for your current situation, someone being nice to you, being thankful for your friends and family, or even being thankful for the opportunity you have been given here on Steemit - just keep it positive :)
  2. Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated.
  3. Mention three people who should do this on each day.
  4. Tag it with #7daypositivitychallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post
  5. Include a picture of something positive (related to your story if possible.)
Tip: You need to put the # in front of 7daypositivitychallenge or it will not let you use the tag

Wow I love the saying from that preacher's wife, so much authority in just one statement. I love Psalm 23 too, especially in the Passion Translation, because it feels very personal to me. Your husband is so sweet to engrave your name on it, perfect! :)

Such a good read and reminder of many things. Thank you @squirrellyma 💕

I want to bless you with this:

For here is what the Lord has spoken to me:
“Because you have delighted in me as my great lover,
I will greatly protect you.
I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face.
I will answer your cry for help every time you pray,
and you will find and feel my presence
even in your time of pressure and trouble.
I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast.
You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you.
For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”

Oh i love this so much! Thank you for leaving me with that.
The preacher's wife holds a special place in my heart. Her advice always makes me think too.
Glad you got to enjoy this! thank you for the support. <3

I really enjoyed the positivity challenge when I did it too. I was in a negative place and it helped me refocus on all the good aspects of my life. How uplifting, to have faith and words that can encourage you through hard times. -Aimee

Yes words and music! If I feel negativity I will turn on some tunes and leave the house or I'll be cleaning and having them playing. Doesn't seem to take long for the house to switch out of the icky atmosphere. Thank you for stopping by! <3

Oh yeah, I love me some good upbeat tunes too! -A

I have had two people tag me, and everyday I tell myself, today! Today I will start... but of course Life has it's own way of throwing curve balls and then I say, oops is it past midnight? Tomorrow, tomorrow I will start for sure... and it has been over a month..

The thing I picked up from the post is Believe. I think it is so important and so is being grateful. And you've done both in this.

Hugs @squirrellyma... sending you loads of love and light ❤️

Thank you so much!
Life can be so crazy but if I feel like if I don't believe it'll get better then it won't. Hopefully life slows the curves ball on you! and we can hear what you have!!

Such a beautiful start to the challenge! I love that you're steadfast in your heart, knowing that you have God's promises and comfort to fall on to in good and trying times. I remember there are plenty of moments in my life where I am challenged in every way, and in my deep need and lack His promises are what kept me going. I was just talking with my brother a while ago about some of the challenges he's been facing, and it's true that life can be hard, and concerns are real, but God is a good Father, and He is faithful to His promises... So we can always hold Him accountable to what He has promised, and He will always come through. He's that secure and not one bit fickle! Thank you so much for doing this challenge, I am grateful and greatly encouraged :) Hugs <3

Thank you for your kind words. :)

Have you seen that movie, I Can Only Imagine?
Great movie if you haven't!! Definitely a box of chocolate and tissues kind of movie, but so inspiring.

Ahh, I've been meaning to watch that movie. So it's out now? Great! One of the recent ones I've watched is War Room and The Shack, both are good too! xx

Oh yes! War Room!! That's on my list to see. I've heard great things!! I feel like The Shack is one too but I can't remember what exactly it's about.. I'll do some digging.
