What it takes to be Kenyan.

I believe you would expect that I will be telling you all you need to qualify to be Kenyan, but no...thats a story for another day. So being Kenyan actually means interacting with 42 tribes or are they actually 44???? I hear recently Indians were added on our list. But that doesn't mean much but when it comes to diversity, it actually means everything.
Moving on , I have this two luhya colleagues who are more than sisters to me. Well, one thing about being from different tribes, its in the diversity of food. Sometimes I find their food not edible ( read yuckily weird)
But on this special day I found my colleagues munching away a combination of maize, beans and sweetpotatoes all mixed and spiced into one. I was curious as I could not even imagine of the taste of that combination. Anyway, one thing is I did not confuse my taste buds in a bad way, I actually loved the confusion involved. From since then, I have learnt to appreciate all cultures just as they are. And try as many as possible too.
